Albanian Prosecution seeks to 152 years prison for for the group allegedly recruiting fighters to Syria

 Prosecutor for Serious Crimes in Tirana urges punishment of a total of 152 years in prison for 9 people, part of a group, according to the Prosecution, for the purpose of recruiting and sending Albanian citizens to participate in the fighting in the Middle East.

"Prosecutor for Serious Crimes, based on an investigation conducted in cooperation with other structures of law enforcement, has provided sufficient evidence that the defendants, mainly in 2013, have convinced and sent to Syria Albanian citizens with the purpose to get unifyed with ISIS".

Albanian Prosecution notified that is looking 20 in prison for citizens G.B, G.P and B.H; 15 years for citizens E.R, V.M, A.T, E.B, F.M while for the citizen Z.Y askued 17 years.

For several months the Court of Serious Crimes in Tirana is conducted trial against a group of imams and other people suspected who alledeglly have carried out recruitment of some Albanian citizens to fight in Syria, where so far to these persons are held several hearings.

In the context of an investigation of the Prosecutor for Serious Crimes, Albanian State Police, arrested in March 2014 seven people suspected of being involved in the recruitment of some Albanian citizens to fight in Syria and two other people later.

According to General Prosecutor of Albania these persons are accused of the offenses of "Recruitment of persons for committing acts with terrorist purposes or terrorist financing", "Training for committing acts with terrorist purposes" and "Incitement of hatred and strife".
