Cooperation in the field of cultural heritage with special emphasis on promotion of cultural diversity and heritage in Kosova was the main topic under discussion during a meeting between Kosova’s deputy PM Kujtim Shala, also Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport and Gianluca Silvestrini, leader of Cultural Diversity Management Division and Andrew Forde, U.D. Chief of the Council of Europe Office in Kosova.
Deputy PM thanked CoE representatives for their support towards Kosova in all areas. The minister has appreciated the so far cooperation between MoCYS and CoE as well as the achievements in the field of cultural heritage, from improvement of legal infrastructure to concrete projects realized in the light of cultural promotion.
Via this cooperation entire society has become sensitized to the values of ethnic, cultural, religious diversity in Kosova. This fruitful cooperation has also had a positive impact on preservation and wider recognition of cultural heritage in Kosova.
Minister Shala expressed confidence that cooperation will be intensified and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports is committed to work hard in the area of cultural heritage.
For his part, the leader of Division for Cultural Diversity Gianluca Silvestrini has appreciated the devotion of this ministry to cultural heritage. He provided an overview of CoE contribution in the field of cultural heritage, particularly in legislation and organizational reform.
The chief of CoE office in Kosova Andrew Forde stressed that CoE and the ministry have had a fruitful cooperation. He voiced his will to keep up the good work not only in the field of heritage but also in other areas under the responsibility of MoTYS.
