MP Balla asks to Brussels the liberalisation of visas for Kosovo citizens

Balla speaking

A meeting took place in Brussels last days between the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the SEECP.

Speaking at the Foreign Policy Committee of the European Parliament, MP Taulant Balla asked to EU to liberalize the visa regime for Kosovo.

In his speech, Balla said that Kosovo has met the main criteria.

"We, the countries of Southwestern Europe salute the EU-Turkey accord, which is very important towards a solution to the refugee crisis. In the spirit of visa liberalization for Turkey, the EU must give the green light for Kosovo. On behalf of the SEECP Parliamentary Assembly, I ask to the European Parliament Commission and Council to propose the abolition of visas for citizens of Kosovo. Kosovo has already met the main criteria. The number of asylum-seekers from Kosovo has fallen sharply in recent months," said Balla.
