“Tirana Reads” marathon precedes International Festival of Literature 2015

  “Tirana Reads” is a marathon of readings throughout the Albanian capital of Tirana that will precede the opening day of the International Festival of Literature II “Literature in Transit”, an event launched by the Institute for Democracy, Media and Culture (IDMC), due to be held on 29th October 2015, from 8 am to 5 pm.

The literary festival, supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Allianz Cultural Foundation and by a series of other institutions and partners, will provide book lovers of all ages with the opportunity to make a reading of literary texts from selected authors (prose and poetry) about key themes, such as “Transit”, “Transition”, “Emigration”, “Transformation” etc at reading locations like “Woodstok”, ”Tirana Times”, “Ejona”, “Zenit”, “E7E”, “Friends Book House”, and “Hemingway”.

“Tirana Reads”, the first of its kind in Albania, aims at instilling a reading culture, especially among young generation.

The International Festival of Literature II “Literature in Transit”, due to be held at the History Museum premises, will feature renowned Albanian and foreign authors, including Andrej Nikolaidis (Montenegro), Ben Blushi (Albania), Vladimir Arsenijevic (Serbia), Arta Arifi (Kosovo), Slavenka Drakulic (Croatia), Kim Mehmeti (Macedonia), Arben Dedja (Albania) etc, who will present and read to the public selected excerpts from their works./ata/
