Official data from the Albanian Energy Corporation (KESH) say that the water quota in Fierza Lake has increased with more than 285 meters above the sea level. By the beginning of the month it was almost in minimal levels. According to KESH, the water reserves increased with 50% by reaching 920 GWh.

The difficult situation of the first three months of this year alarmed the Albanian government.

This money saved by mother nature, would be loaned from KESH through a guaranteen of the government, thus increasing the country’s debt once again.

Sources from the Ministry of Energy say that the improvement of the reserve during April has reduced the need for import with 25%, going to 75 million EUR.

According to them, this figure might get even better, since the water reserves in Fierza are getting bigger. Besides, the rain has improved the reserves in the entire region, which has lowered the energy import price with 20%, reports Top Channel/.
