A special ceremony was hosted Thursday by Tirana municipality in honor of the former US ambassador to our country Withers who was presented with Tirana key.
During the ceremony in the presence of personalities from different walks of life, such as religion, politics, parliament and diplomacy, including U.S. ambassador, Donald Lu, Tirana mayor Erion Veliaj expressed his profound gratitude to the former US ambassador in Tirana John Withers for his performance and presented him with Tirana key.
“Many Albanians felt John was one of us. He was not only the representative of a friendly country but also the man who shared the issues of Albania and it is a great honor for us to present him with the key of Tirana city,” Veliaj said.
Former US ambassador John Withers said: “I want to thank you for your kind words. I want to thank all the participants and I am gratified to see among the personalities my friend and honorable colleague, ambassador, Donald Lu. I feel honored to be presented with the key of a city, which is so dear to me.
