Fishes die in Divjaka due olive oil remains after processing casted in water

The ecological catastrophes in Albania do not only occur due to unprocessed wastes, but one of the silent environmental menaceers is also the waste of industry that drains into rivers.

Some images have been filmed not far from the Bedat hydrograph, where the great channel that collects the waters of all Divjaka canals flows into the sea.

Fishermen say that the fish have died due to the spillage of olive oil production from the Lushnja and Divjaka factories and that pollution is now greater than ever.

The remains of olive oil plants are thrown into the big canal, mostly at night and in secret.

Freshwater fish can not withstand chemical substances, and this happens every year throughout the harvesting and processing season in the Lushnja and Divjaka factories.

The lack of controls has worsened the situation, and only the completion of the olive oil production turns the purity of the canal water, while the flow of harmful substances ends in the sea, where another pollution cycle begins.
