Albania U-17 Girls Lose 2-0 to Ireland in Euro 2027 Qualifiers

 Albania’s U-17 women’s national team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Ireland U-17 in the second match of the first qualifying round for the UEFA Women’s Under-17 European Championship 2027.

The match was played at the “Niko Dovana” Stadium, where Ireland secured the victory in the first half with two quick goals.

Head coach Cyme Lulaj started with Reshiti (GK), Jahelezi, Çelaj, Gola, Kronaj, Hoxha, Hysenaj, Çifliku, E. Hasanaj, T. Hasanaj and Caroline Wintz.

Maksuti, Kola, Ahmetaj and Kuka were introduced during the second half.

Ireland took the lead in the 8th minute, with Ciara Milton finding the net. The visitors doubled their advantage in the 19th minute, when Halle Harcourt made it 2-0.

Albania tried to respond after the break and created more pressure around the Irish penalty area, but the hosts were unable to find a way back into the match.

The defeat leaves Albania with one final game to play in this qualifying round.

The Albania U-17 women’s team will return to action on October 4 at 12:00, again at the “Niko Dovana” Stadium, for their third and final match of the round. The young Red and Blacks will look to finish the qualifying stage with a positive result.
