For the 107th consecutive day, citizens gathered in Tirana to protest against the government and Albania’s political establishment, with calls for Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign once again dominating the demonstration.

The protesters gathered there ahead of Tuesday’s hearing on the security measure against Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. They addressed the judges with chants including: “Judge, do justice, leave Veliaj in jail,” demanding that his detention remain in force.
The protesters announced that they would return to the Supreme Court at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for another peaceful gathering during the hearing.
Earlier in the evening, demonstrators also stopped outside Police Station No. 3, demanding the release of citizens arrested during the protests.
The Day 107 demonstration ended after a long evening of speeches and marching through Tirana, with protesters continuing to call for the resignation of the government.
