Albanian Woman, 24, Found Dead in Graz Apartment, Partner’s Brother Arrested

 GRAZ, Austria – New details have emerged following the death of 24-year-old Albanian woman Abigel Laçi, originally from Vlora, who was found dead in the apartment where she lived with her partner in central Graz.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of killing her. Austrian authorities later clarified that the suspect is the brother of Laçi’s partner.


According to preliminary findings, the young man allegedly went to the apartment alone and forced his way inside. Laçi was reportedly alone at the time, as her partner was away.

Investigators suspect she was attacked with a hammer, with the injuries proving fatal. Police were called to the apartment at around 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, where they found the young woman dead at the scene.

The suspect was reportedly detained on the building’s stairs shortly after leaving the apartment. Witnesses allegedly described him as being covered in blood.

During questioning, the 23-year-old chose to remain silent and has not provided investigators with a possible motive. An autopsy has already been carried out, while authorities continue to reconstruct the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Austrian authorities have not yet officially confirmed what triggered the alleged attack. The investigation remains ongoing.
