According to police, Lika had been the subject of an international arrest warrant after the Rome Court of Appeal sentenced him in March 2025 to six years in prison for drug trafficking committed in collaboration with others, under the provisions of the Italian Penal Code.
The arrest was carried out following coordinated intelligence and operational efforts aimed at locating internationally wanted individuals hiding in Albania.
Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with the relevant Italian authorities, has begun the legal procedures required to extradite Lika to Italy, where he will serve his prison sentence.
The operation is part of Albania's continued cooperation with international law enforcement agencies to locate and return fugitives wanted for serious criminal offenses.
