Two young men, both around 20 years old, were safely rescued following an overnight search-and-rescue operation after becoming stranded in the mountainous area between Shtërpcë, Ferizaj, and Suharekë in Kosovo.

Police units from Ferizaj, Shtërpcë, and Suharekë immediately launched a coordinated search. At the same time, the Kosovo Search and Rescue Association deployed its rescue teams to assist in locating the missing men.
After several hours of searching through difficult terrain, rescue teams successfully found the two young men at around 1:00 a.m. on August 2 and safely brought them to safety.
Investigators said the pair became trapped after driving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) onto a dead-end mountain trail, leaving them unable to continue or return safely.
Fortunately, both men were handed over to their families in good health and without any injuries.
The Regional Police Directorate of Ferizaj praised the Kosovo Search and Rescue Association – Suharekë Branch for its professionalism, rapid response, and dedication during the rescue mission.
Authorities also used the incident to remind the public to exercise caution when exploring mountainous areas, urging visitors to avoid unfamiliar trails—especially at night—plan their routes in advance, inform relatives and rescue services of their destination, and carry proper navigation and communication equipment.
