Renovation works on the pitch of Albania’s “Air Albania” Stadium are progressing according to schedule, with the investment by the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) now entering its final phase.
The installation of a new hybrid playing surface has also been completed, providing the stadium with a modern and durable pitch that meets UEFA requirements for international matches.
Following this stage, natural grass has been planted, while specialists continue with maintenance and constant monitoring to ensure the pitch reaches optimal conditions for official matches.
According to the planned schedule, the new pitch at “Air Albania” Stadium is expected to be fully ready for use in September.
The investment is part of the Albanian Football Federation’s strategy to modernize sports infrastructure across the country and is directly linked to preparations for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2027 finals, which Albania will co-host with Serbia.
Hosting the tournament represents a historic moment for Albanian football and an important opportunity to promote the country internationally. For this reason, the FSHF is continuing to invest in sports facilities, aiming to guarantee the highest organizational standards while creating a lasting infrastructure legacy for Albanian football.
Once completed, the renovation of “Air Albania” will give Albania one of the most modern playing surfaces in the region, creating ideal conditions for national-team matches, the UEFA EURO U-21 2027 finals, and other major international events that the Albanian Football Federation aims to bring to the country.
