 The Kosovo Mountain Search and Rescue Service (SHKSHMK) announced that today they received a call and information about an incident on Mount Korab.

“Fortunately, one of the tourists was conscious and had mobile network coverage and was able to request help by also sending their coordinates,”
stated the SHKSHMK in their announcement.

“Two members of the SHKSHMK were already carrying out their activities near the location, and as soon as they received the news, they headed to the site,”
the statement continued.

“The Albanian authorities, without delay, dispatched a team of doctors and rescue staff via the air unit, who upon arrival began emergency medical procedures and evacuated the individuals to the University Hospital Center in Tirana,”
the SHKSHMK added.
