After investigations carried out by specialists and forensic experts in the Local Police Directorate of Berat, 2 employees of the municipality of Berat were arrested and criminal proceedings were initiated in a free state for 4 other employees.

The news is announced by official sources in the Local Police Directorate of Berat who confirm that 6 citizens (leaders and employees of the municipality of Berat) were escorted to the police last night as the main suspects and responsible for the serious incident and only 2 of them were arrested. , while 4 others are being prosecuted in a free state.

The Director of the Public Services Directorate in the municipality of Berat, Polizoi Ikonomi, and the engineer of this directorate, Llazar Hoxholli, have been handcuffed by the police. They are charged with "abuse of duty" under Article 248 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Under investigation, 4 other employees of this directorate are also being investigated while in a free state, they are the electricians of the park, but whose names have not yet been announced.

The 5-year-old Aleksandër Brahimi, who was known in the city as a beggar and came from the Roma community, died yesterday morning in the city park of Berat. He was playing in the light tunnel, part of the municipality's decor for the end-of-year festivities when he came in contact with the electric current of some bare tunnel wires. He arrived at the hospital with signs of poor life but doctors, despite efforts, could not save him. The family members of the child accused the municipality of his death.
