In Albania, 8 new cases of new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed, increasing the total number of cases to 989, including people who have died.

According to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, during the last 24 hours, 200 citizens have been tested as suspects affected by COVID-19, while the new cases are contacts with the previous positive cases.

"To date, 989 citizens have been positively confirmed with COVID-19. Of these, about 79 percent have been cured. Currently, there are 175 active persons with COVID-19, mainly in Tirana, Durrës, Kruja, and Shkodër ”, it is stated in the notification of the ministry.

A total of 14,459 tests were performed in Albania and 783 patients were cured, while has been marked the 32nd victim of COVID-19 in more than 2 months. She is a 64-year-old woman who has been suffering from brain lymphoma for 4 months and has been in a serious condition for 3 weeks. Already the balance goes to 32 victims in Albania, although no victims have been recorded for some weeks.

Due to COVID-19 in Albania, the state of natural disaster continues, where some of the measures are in force, such as banning entry with neighboring countries for passengers, suspension of flights, suspension of urban transport, and restriction of movement of citizens in some cities.

We emphasize that last week the government took some mitigating measures by allowing the opening of barbershops, restaurants, bars, etc.
