Chinese Ambassador: China will help Albania and the god friendship will be restored

China's Ambassador to Tirana, Zhou Ding, said during an interview at Euronews Albania that Albania has proved its friendship with China in difficult days and that this good friendship will be restored.

“I have always maintained close communication with the Albanian government, in particular with the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Health. In the difficult days of the epidemic in China, President Meta, Prime Minister Rama, Parliament Speaker Ruci sent letters of solidarity to Chinese leaders. Even the mayor of Tirana, Veliaj, organized a solidarity event at one of the Chinese restaurants in Tirana in collaboration with the Chinese embassy in the fight against the pandemic," Ding said.

The diplomat referred to proverbs to set the example of good Albanian-Chinese friendship.

“All these prove the Albanian proverb. 'A good friend is known in difficult days.' Now that Albania is threatened by a pandemic, we will stand with the Albanian people. And in many cases we have sent data to the Ministry of Health, PHI and the Albanian media on the latest findings regarding COVID-19 research, prevention, control and recovery from the virus,” the ambassador said.

He added that today a video conference was organized with the participation of all experts in different fields, Albanian and Chinese doctors to share their experiences in combating the pandemic.

Asked about the request for help from the Albanian side, the ambassador answered optimistically.

"The Chinese side is studying it and I am convinced there will be a positive response. In fact, they have so far made a similar request, especially those countries in more severe conditions, such as Italy, Spain, Iran, South Korea, and Japan. But China and Albania enjoy traditional friendship and we hope that after this situation this friendship will deepen further,” the diplomat said.
