Minister Ahmetaj says Albania has over a month and a half food reserves
 The Albanian government released yesterday the financial plan for the situation created by COVID-19, which included 7 key points. Prime Minister Edi Rama has appointed the Minister for Reconstruction, Arben Ahmetaj, to manage the plan for COVID.

Mr. Ahmetaj, speaking in an interview with Euronews Albania on the financial plan, said that the money for this plan was provided by the reallocation of expenses and fiscal expansion or increase of deficit.

The Minister of Reconstruction stated that together with the financial plan for COVID-19, Albania's public debt will amount to 67% of GDP.

The Minister of Reconstruction underlined that the financial plan does not foresee any intervention in public investments that are foreseen for 2020.

Asked on how much food there is in the country, Mr. Ahmetaj responded, "we have over a month and a half based on discussions we had with food businesses."

“We have no problems with food at all. External and internal supplies continue normally”, stated Mr. Ahmetaj.

The government's plan envisions a $ 370m fund, with the bulk, $ 100m, being provided as a sovereign guarantee for companies that have objective difficulties in paying employee salaries.

While $ 65 million are earmarked for the most immediate needs of the needy, small business and the unemployment that may come from the fight against CODIV-19.
