Former Serbian boxer David Cufaj sentenced to 17 years in prison in Peru on two tons of cocaine

 Serbian boxer David Cufaj was sentenced to 17 years in prison for participating in a criminal group of international drug trafficking.

Exactly, Cufaj was arrested in 2017 in Peru because of a 2-tonne cocaine shipment destined to cross from Peru to Europe, and more specifically to Belgium. It was valued at $ 174 million.


But who is David Cufaj?

The 27-year-old was born in Kosovo and then raised in Bosnia and Herzegovina because his family moved to Sarajevo when he was at a young age.


He has Serbian citizenship and has played several matches as a boxer. Cufaj has benefited from relations between Balkan and Latin American criminal groups, becoming the right-hand man of Jose Carlos Uljon Rohas, who has been arrested along with Cufaj.


Cufaj played the role of the financier in international cocaine trafficking in Peru, and some media have alluded that he is dating Miss Peru Kamili Kanikobi.
