Kosovo director Blerta Zeqiri has been decorated by the French state as a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. Her films have been praised at the awards ceremony for their unique, original and powerful voice. Zeqiri sealed her name in 2018 with the film "Marriage", chosen to represent Kosovo at the Oscars.

At a ceremony organized at the French Embassy in Kosovo, Zeqiri has been honored with a special award for "her distinguished contribution to the existence of an independent, creative and dedicated Kosovo human rights and tolerance cinema".

The Order of the Arts and Letters was founded in 1957 to reward people who have been distinguished for their artistic or literary work, or for the contribution they have made in France and around the world. The award is given in three ranks and that of the Knight is the third.
