Three more police officers are arrested in North Kosovo
 
 Kosovo police announced on Thursday morning that have arrested three of its officials in North Kosovo on suspicion of organized crime and abuse of office.

The Kosovo Police Inspectorate said in a statement that “the arrest of the three suspects (a police lieutenant, a sergeant and a police officer) was carried out by a Special Prosecution order on suspicion of having committed the criminal offenses “Organized Crime” and “Misuse. of official position.”

The operation, which was carried out by order of the Special Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kosovo, according to the notification of the Inspectorate, is a continuation of the operation carried out in May of this year codenamed "Smuggling", where 19 police officers suspected of "abuse of official position, for the criminal offense of Organized Crime, for the criminal offense of Smuggling of goods, bribery, etc.”

The May operation was extended to several different regions, including the municipalities of Zvecan, Zubin Potok, Leposavic, North Mitrovica, South Mitrovica, Skenderaj and Drenas, and police officers of various nationalities such as Albanians, Serbs and Bosniaks were arrested.

One police officer was slightly wounded in the leg, while four others were injured.

The Kosovo Police Inspectorate said that 25 officers have been arrested since the operation began in May this year.
