The PM of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, announced that has decided to dismiss more than 50 directors and members of state enterprises and agencies due to the lack of results in the management of these enterprises.

Among the dismissed directors are some of the major energy companies, such as MEPSO, ELEM, Macedonia Roads, Macedonian Railways, Drugs Agency, Security and Counter-Intelligence Directorate, health houses, cultural institutions, and others.

The dismissed directors are from all the ruling parties, including Albanians. Their dismissal was announced long ago by the Prime Minister Zaev, within the so-called "Brooms" operation.

Zaev has stated that many leaders of the institutions have not achieved results, so they must leave the office. But some of them also leave due to the reformation of the institutions where they have exercised their functions, as is the case with the Directorate for Security and Counter-Intelligence, which is transformed into a National Security Agency.

Zaev has faced numerous accusations recently and not only from the opposition but also of the wider public about the lack of results in the work of the government and the failure to realize the promises given in the election campaign. He has reshaped the government in early July after many accusations by the Opposition.
