 Honey Festival in Korça

 The honey bee of the Albanian lands was brought to a single fair in Korça, organing thus for the first time the Honey Festival.

On the Bee World Day, the beekeepers from Albania have joined together from all over Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo and Greece, bringing to attention the importance of this product, as well as trying to overcome the challenges that come as a result of the threat of the bees because of different factors all over the world.

Korça Mayor Sotiraq Filo praised the beekeepers' work while providing support for the organisation of other activities, stressing that the Korça region remains one of the most important honey-producing areas.

At present, 365 thousand beehives are estimated throughout Albania, while in Macedonia there are about 242 thousand.
