Former Macedonian Interior Minister Gordana Jankulovska was sentenced to six years in prison for abuse of office in the corrupt affair known as Tanku.

The Skopje Criminal Court convicted Jankulovska for violating the procedure of buying an armored car for former Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski in the amount of 600 thousand euros.

Judge Dobrilla Kacarska said the car was purchased by the MIA, but based on the evidence has resulted that, in fact, is "bought for former Prime Minister Gruevski."

Kacarska said that the technical aspects of the tender favored a company, while other special conditions were also required, which excluded the possibility of other entities to participate in the tender.

For the same case, Gruevski was sentenced to two years in prison, with 4.5 years Gjoko Popovski, a former senior official at the Ministry of Interior.
