Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli and Prime Minister Isa Mustafa held a telephone conversation with Deputy Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Hoyt Brian Yee about the political developments in Kosovo and the cooperation between Kosovo and the US."
In a press release by the Parliament Speaker's Office, "Mr. Veseli and Mr Yee agreed that the agreement on marking the border with Montenegro will be sent by the Government next week to Parliament."
The statement further states that "during the conversation with the US diplomat, Mayor Veseli said that Kosovo institutions should make great decisions because, on the contrary, they lose meaning. In this regard, they agreed that the Demarchy be processed by the government for approval in Parliament next week. "Meanwhile, in the statement of the Kosovo Government it is stated, "Prime Minister Mustafa thanked for the indispensable support of the United States for Kosovo, emphasizing the commitment of the Kosovo government to expand cooperation and strategic partnership with the US in all areas ".
The communiqué of Kosovo institutions states that "Mr. Yee has appreciated the commitment of Kosovo's institutions to advance the processes in the country, including the readiness for full partnership with the US and NATO in the process of transformation of the Kosovo Security Force ".
Also in the press it is stated that "Prime Minister Isa Mustafa and Hoyt Yee have also talked about the ratification process by the Kosovo Parliament of the Agreement on marking the border with Montenegro and the need for ratification of this agreement as soon as possible, as a confirmation of Kosovo's European path."
The Government warned that this agreement will be submitted to Parliament this month, but it is still a challenge to secure sufficient votes, requiring two-thirds of all deputies.
A failure of this vote, according to observers, could lead the country to early elections, as according to them, the current coalition has been formed to advance issues of relevance to Kosovo.
