Over 48,000 Albanians received Greek and Italian citizenship last year according Eurostat

According to European Statistical Agency (Eurostat) data the  Albanians enter to the group for the largest beneficiaries of a European country's statehood.

Taking into consideration data for the first two years, Eurostat generally notes a decrease in the number of people who have had this chance. In 2013 the citizenship of an European country is taken by 980,000 people, in 2014 890 thousand, while in 2015, 840 thousand.

For 5 years, the total number of citizens who have acquired the citizenship of a member state of the European bloc has exceeded to 5 million, notes Eurostat.

During 2015, the vast majority of these beneficiaries or about 87 percent of them were nationals who did not come from EU countries.

At the top of the list of beneficiaries for this period are Moroccans with over 86,000 of those have been equipped with Italian, Spanish or French passports.

The seconds are the Albanians, with 48, 400 people. 96 percent of Albanians who have acquired foreign citizenship have become citizens of Italy and Greece.

Albanians have left behind the Turks, who benefit mainly German citizenship, then Romanians who benefit Italian citizenship, the Pakistani citizens who get more British citizenship and Algerians who benefit mostly French citizenship.

From the members of the bloc, it turns out that the citizenship of another European Union state is won mostly by Romanians and Poles.

The conditions for becoming a citizen of the EU are not the same. Generally, all countries require that a person seeking citizenship has lived in the country at least 5 years, has a clean criminal record, knows the language of the country, and in some cases has basic knowledge about the country's culture./Oculus News
