The Austrian newspaper "Der Standard" reports that two main Albanian parties, DUI and DPA, may have a decisive role in the political crisis in Macedonia.
"Two Albanian parties, DUI of Ali Ahmeti, which has been in coalition with the ruling party, VMRO, as well as DPA of Menduh Thaci, might have a crucial role" writes from Skopje the correspondent "Der Standard".
"If these two parties turn their backs on Prime Minister Gruevski's VMRO, and support the request for the postponement of the elections, the VMRO would remain single and, after eventual elections, will not be able to create a coalition. But, for now, DUI and DPA support the position of VMRO about elections. Especially DUI, is not interested for the speciasle Prosecution efficient work, fearing that Prosecution will shed light on the criminal actions which included members of the party, especially in cases of corruption," writes Standard."The Albanians in Macedonia are seeing more and more critically the DUI and DPA. The new Albanian party, Besa, and other Albanian organizations are participating in the protests. But crucial will be the pressure that the US will exercise against Albanians. For the Albanians in Macedonia, as in Albania and Kosovo, are considered close allies of the US," wrote the correspondent of Der Standard.
"But it is important also that Macedonia will have the chance in the future to be admitted to NATO and the European Union, there is also the Greek veto" writes the paper.
