Kosovo Protesters Physically Stop Vetëvendosje MP Fahrush Rexhepi From Leaving Parliament

PRISTINA, Kosovo — Protesters physically stopped Fahrush Rexhepi, a lawmaker from Kosovo’s ruling Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), as he attempted to leave the premises of the Assembly of Kosovo.

According to reports from the scene, protesters confronted Rexhepi as he was leaving the Assembly building and physically grabbed the MP, preventing him from continuing outside the area secured by the Kosovo Police.

The protesters then forced Rexhepi back inside the perimeter established by police officers around the Assembly.

The incident took place during a protest outside the Assembly of Kosovo, where demonstrators are demanding that lawmakers remain at the premises until the second reading of proposed amendments to the Law on Specialist Chambers is voted on.

The protesters' demand is aimed at preventing MPs from leaving before the parliamentary vote is completed.

The confrontation involving Rexhepi marks a tense moment in the ongoing protest, as demonstrators seek to pressure lawmakers to remain inside the Assembly and proceed with the scheduled legislative vote.
