Eric Wendt Confirmed Ambassador in Albania by U.S. Senate After Narrow 51-47 Vote

The United States Senate has officially confirmed Ambassador Eric Wendt in a closely contested vote of 51–47, marking the final step in his diplomatic appointment process.

The confirmation followed earlier approval in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where his nomination received strong support with a 19–3 vote. That committee endorsement paved the way for the full Senate consideration.

With the latest plenary vote, the nomination has now cleared all required legislative stages. The result reflects a sharply divided but sufficient majority in favor of his appointment.

According to procedural expectations, Ambassador Wendt is now set to assume his diplomatic duties in the coming days, in line with the transition timeline established by the U.S. administration.

The confirmation concludes the formal Senate process, which included committee review, debate, and final floor voting before approval.
