Albiano Kreçi, 20, Dies After Jet Car Collides With Border Police Boat in Ksamil Bay

 A tragic accident in Ksamil Bay has claimed the life of 20-year-old Albiano Kreçi, a young resident of the coastal town, following a collision between the watercraft he was operating and a vessel belonging to Albania’s Border Police.

The fatal incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, sending shockwaves through the local community and among tourists who were present along the coastline at the time.

According to preliminary information, Kreçi was navigating a "jet car" — a recreational watercraft designed to resemble a car while operating on water — when it collided with a Border Police speedboat. Authorities said the police vessel was reportedly conducting routine maritime monitoring operations around 400 meters from the shoreline when the accident took place.

Immediately after the collision, Border Police officers and individuals aboard nearby vessels rushed to assist the young man. Kreçi was pulled from the water and transported urgently to the Sarandë Regional Hospital. Despite efforts by medical staff to save him, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Sources from the scene indicate that other individuals may have been involved in the accident, although authorities have not yet released further details. Investigators are currently working to reconstruct the circumstances of the collision and determine whether any safety violations or operational errors contributed to the tragedy.
