The case quickly expanded beyond the capital’s police leadership. Investigators have already detained multiple suspects connected to the incident, including members of Milić’s security detail, as well as individuals linked to the restaurant where the victim was reportedly seen for the last time. Early investigative findings suggest that the missing man may have been targeted inside the venue before efforts were allegedly made to remove evidence and obstruct the investigation.
Following his arrest, Serbia’s Interior Ministry announced Milić’s immediate removal from all official duties, marking one of the most significant law enforcement scandals in the country in recent years. The case is drawing widespread attention across the Balkans, raising fresh questions about corruption, organized crime, and institutional accountability inside Serbia’s security apparatus.
Authorities say the investigation remains active, and additional arrests or charges may follow as prosecutors work to uncover the full scope of the alleged criminal network.
