Following verbal authorization from the competent prosecutor, law enforcement officers carried out a search at the suspected location. During the inspection, authorities confiscated 800.4 kilograms of processed tobacco, 94 kilograms of honey, 30.4 kilograms of plastic packaging materials, 178 kilograms of paper packaging, one tobacco-processing machine, one packaging machine, and a water spraying device reportedly used in tobacco processing.
Officials estimated the market value of the seized goods at approximately €16,500, while unpaid excise duties and customs tax avoidance are believed to total nearly €34,000. The case highlights ongoing concerns over cross-border smuggling activities in the Western Balkans and the economic impact of illegal trade on state revenues.
After the completion of police procedures, all confiscated goods were transferred to the Kosovo Customs authorities for further legal and administrative proceedings. Authorities have not yet disclosed whether additional arrests or charges will follow as the investigation remains active.
