Speaking to “Telma”, Dimitrievski stated that the legal and institutional procedure regarding Gruevski’s extradition from Hungary is still active and that further steps are expected, including a renewed official request as part of state obligations. He noted that the process is also influenced by the political context in Hungary, where Gruevski has been residing since his escape from North Macedonia.

Dimitrievski also criticized previous political structures in North Macedonia, particularly the former government led by the SDSM, accusing them of failing to take adequate responsibility at the time of Gruevski’s departure from the country. He claimed that accountability was shifted toward lower-level officials instead of political leadership.

The remarks come amid ongoing public and political debate in North Macedonia over accountability, judicial procedures, and the handling of high-profile corruption-related cases involving former state officials. The extradition case of Nikola Gruevski remains one of the most politically sensitive issues in the country’s recent history.
