A deadly shooting in Lezhë has left a man and his wife dead after gunmen ambushed their vehicle in the Balldren area, in a suspected targeted attack.

The victims were identified as Kreshnik Mujeci and his spouse, who were traveling along the Balldren–Torovicë road when attackers opened fire on their Audi Q7. According to initial reports, the assailants fired a barrage of bullets at the vehicle, killing both victims instantly. Their bodies were later found inside the car, which was heavily riddled with gunfire.
Following the attack, the perpetrators fled the scene without leaving clear traces that could immediately lead to their identification. Police forces arrived shortly after and launched an intensive investigation. Authorities have formed a dedicated investigative team to review security camera footage from the area and reconstruct the sequence of events.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, though investigators have not ruled out revenge as a possible factor. Kreshnik Mujeci was known to law enforcement due to past criminal involvement, which may be relevant to the case.
According to previous records, Mujeci had been implicated in a serious criminal case in 2017 alongside his brother, following the killing of Gegë Mëhilli (also known as Gent Pjetri). The incident, which occurred in 2016 on the Shkodër–Velipojë road, reportedly stemmed from an earlier conflict and has left a legacy of tensions that could be linked.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting and are working to identify those responsible.
