Police Operation in Durrës Exposes Apartment-Based Prostitution Network, Four Arrested

Albanian police have arrested four Chinese nationals in the coastal city of Durrës after uncovering a prostitution network operating in rented premises adapted for illegal activity.

Four Chinese nationals arrested in Durrës after allegedly renting and adapting two apartments for prostitution activities, police confirm.

According to authorities, the individuals had rented two separate environments, which were modified and used specifically for prostitution. The operation was carried out following a proactive investigation led by the structures combating illegal trafficking, culminating in coordinated police action.

Investigators revealed that one of the arrested women is suspected of playing a leading role in organizing and managing the activity, while the others were allegedly involved directly in prostitution. The network appears to have been structured, with clear roles assigned among those involved.

In addition to the arrests, authorities have initiated legal proceedings against several other individuals believed to be connected to the case. Evidence collected during the operation includes cash sums, mobile phones, bank cards, and identification documents, all suspected to be linked to the illegal activity.

The investigation also suggests potential international links. Police indicated that the activity may have been coordinated beyond Albania’s borders, with communications possibly managed through external channels, including call center operations.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by Albanian law enforcement to combat organized crime and human exploitation networks. Authorities confirmed that investigations are continuing, as they work to identify other individuals who may be involved in the broader structure behind the operation.
