Albania’s Road Authority (ARRSH) has announced that the road segment near the panoramic tunnels on the Qafë Thore–Theth axis has been completely blocked due to avalanches caused by severe weather conditions.
Because of the high safety risk, traffic has been fully suspended for all vehicles, including snowplows and maintenance equipment. Authorities warn that the area remains extremely dangerous and unsuitable for passage until further notice.
High Risk Area, Traffic Suspended
According to ARRSH, the avalanches occurred in the area close to the panoramic tunnels, cutting off the road entirely and making any intervention unsafe at this stage. As a precautionary measure, road clearance operations have also been suspended.
Drivers are strongly urged to:
- Respect all road signs and barriers
- Avoid the Qafë Thore–Theth road segment
- Follow official announcements for updates on road conditions
Authorities emphasized that traffic will remain closed until weather conditions improve and safety can be fully ensured.
