The Albanian athlete Elina Xhengo, a javelin thrower, is continuously showing more and more that she is the great star of javelin throwing. She confirmed this in another major event by winning the gold medal at the European U23 Championship held in Finland, adding another significant success to her career after triumphing in the European Women's Championship, as well as in the U20 World Championship and the U20 European Championship, Greek media say.

The champion, representing the Greek flag, achieved her triumph with a throw of 60.73m, which she accomplished in her final attempt. However, even her second-best throw would have been enough to secure the gold medal. Xhengo began the competition with a throw of 56.45m, and in her second attempt, she improved to 59.24m.

Meanwhile, in her last throw, she launched the javelin to 60.73m, claiming victory and being crowned champion in javelin throwing. Estonian athlete Gedli Tuki secured second place with a throw of 57.62m, followed by Finnish athlete Ani Linea Alanen with 56.67m.

After the exceptional success, Xhengo spoke to the Greek media, expressing:

"I highly appreciate today's competition. Competing in the U23 carries great responsibility, and I succeeded. I know I have already achieved a lot in my career, but this makes me even more motivated for what lies ahead. I want to fulfill all my expectations."
