Albanian government allocates a 1 million euro fund for religious communities, this is how much each community receives

 The government has approved the decision to allocate over 1 million euros to religious communities in Albania, local media say.

The amount of 113 million new lek from the state budget for 2023 will be distributed to the Muslim Community of Albania, the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, the Catholic Church, and the World Bektashi Headquarters starting from May.

"The funding measure of 113,000,000 (one hundred and thirteen million) lek, from the 2023 budget, approved to financially support religious communities, is used as follows:

a) The Muslim Community of Albania receives the amount of 33,840,000 (thirty-three million eight hundred and forty thousand) lek, divided into:
17,040,000 (seventeen million forty thousand) lek for financing half of the minimum budgetary salary for 71 (seventy-one) administrative employees;

ii. 16,800,000 (sixteen million eight hundred thousand) lek for financing half of the minimum budgetary salary for 70 (seventy) employees of pre-university and university educational institutions.

b) The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania receives the amount of 26,400,000 (twenty-six million four hundred thousand) lek, divided into:

13,200,000 (thirteen million two hundred thousand) lek for financing half of the minimum budgetary salary for 55 (fifty-five) administrative employees;

ii. 13,200,000 (thirteen million two hundred thousand) lek for financing half of the minimum budgetary salary for 55 (fifty-five) employees of pre-university and university educational institutions.

c) The Catholic Church in Albania receives the amount of 26,400,000 (twenty-six million four hundred thousand) lek, divided into:

9,600,000 (nine million six hundred thousand) lek for financing half of the minimum budgetary salary for 40 (forty) administrative employees;

ii. 16,800,000 (sixteen million eight hundred thousand) lek for financing half of the minimum budgetary salary for 70 (seventy) employees of pre-university and university educational institutions.

d) The World Bektashi Headquarters receives the amount of 26,360,000 (twenty-six million three hundred and sixty thousand) lek, divided into:

6,000,000 (six million) lek for financing, up to half of the minimum budgetary salary for 25 (twenty-five) administrative employees;

ii. 13,360,000 (thirteen million three hundred and sixty thousand) lek as a contribution to the construction of the Shtufi Teqe, Gjirokastër;

iii. 7,000,000 (seven million) lek, due to its special position as the World Bektashi Headquarters based in Tirana and its activities abroad, to be used to fully or partially cover the preventive requests submitted by it in the 2023 request, according to the submitted financial documentation," stated in the Council of Ministers' Decision.
