7.5 million tourists visited Albania in 2022: Minister Kumbaro

7.5 million foreign tourists have visited Albania throughout the year 2022. The Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, shared the news on social networks. She emphasizes that "the year 2022 was not only the year with the highest number of tourists during the summer season but also with an influx in the winter months, a good sign towards year-round tourism".

According to her, the foreign visitors who entrusted their holidays to Albania were 1.9 million more than in 2021 and 18% more than in 2019, which until now held the record.

The minister pointed out that in addition to the increasing flow of visitors, the data regarding the geography or the countries from which the tourists came were also interesting.

"85% more visitors from England; 3.7 times more visitors from Spain; 2 times more visitors from Slovenia; 3 times more visitors from the Netherlands; 84% more visitors from Turkey; 2 times more from the Nordic countries; and of course the guests from Kosovo who are our strongest pillar, we have the greatest obligation to offer them the maximum quality in service", said Kumbaro.

The minister said that the same trend was shown by the arrivals from the Balkans, from North Macedonia and Montenegro, but the flows from Romania, Croatia, or Bulgaria also increased by over 50%.
