Lara Colturi, who has just been declared World Champion in skiing, went to Austria for Albania and Prime Minister Edi Rama says that she became a naturalized Albanian because she fell in love with this country.

"Lara Colturi, who was naturalized Albanian because she is in love with Albania from her family, has just been declared the WORLD CHAMPION for young women in Skiing. When she passionately told me why she wanted to become Albanian, she ended it with the words, "I want to bring gold medals to Albania" and today Lara brought our country the first gold medal in skiing", writes Rama.

Great joy for Lara Colturi, a very young alpine skiing talent, daughter of Alessandro from Livigna and of the Olympic champion Daniela Ceccarelli. In the world championships in the Juniores category, the 16-year-old, who competes for Albania, won the gold medal, graduating precisely as world champion in Super-g, Italian media reports.

Lara Colturi thus confirms herself as one of the best prospects in international skiing, as demonstrated also in the "grown-up" World Cup, where this season, her debut season, has already been able to score points both in slalom and giant.

It is worth noting that in recent years there have been more foreigners naturalized as Albanians who have won gold medals for Albania in various sports.
