Albania will increase food security and build agricultural systems to withstand climate change. To increase the production and the standard simultaneously, the Ministry of Agriculture and the United Nations Food Agency "Food and Agriculture Organization" (FAO) have established bridges of cooperation, Euronews reports.

The director of FAO, Qu Dongy said that the climate and relief of Albania offer opportunities for the expansion of production in agriculture and livestock, and support will not be lacking in these sectors.

"Albania is a Mediterranean country with a lot of biodiversity and production opportunities. FAO is ready to cooperate with you, to provide the appropriate support. My future here is a chance for more presence of Albania in the international decision-making of food policies", said Qu Dongyu, director general of FAO.

The plan for food security and expanding the population's access to food is a 10-year plan, during which the aim is for agricultural exports to reach 1 billion euros.
