The much-discussed project for a navy and luxury buildings in the area of the Durres Port with an investment value of 2 billion euros has already passed to another link.

Recently, the company Simphpny Real Estate Development sh.p.k registered in the National Business Center in recent months has applied to the Albanian Investment Development Agency to benefit the treatment of the strategic investor.

The company is learned to have submitted the documentation for the development of the project "Durrës Yachts & Marina" which is proposed by the company Symphony Real Estate Development sh.p.k under the direction of Symphonie Group of Companies founded by Mohamed Ali Alabbar.

The project envisages that during the development phase it will employ 12 thousand people while the total area of the project will be 44 hectares. An area of 24 hectares will be used for the first phase. In April of this year, the company Emaar presented the project for the new tourist port of Durrës.

What the project envisages

According to the official website of the company, it is expected that residential units and parks, and open spaces will be built. Featuring a pristine beach of 14 km long, the community will be home to over 12,000+ residential units with more than 80,000 m2 of parks and open spaces, as well as entertainment, services, and restaurant units. The development of the Yachts and Navy of Durrës will also include exclusively a navy and a cruise terminal that will connect Durrës with the glittering splendor of the Adriatic Sea and beyond ", it is said on the website.

The port of Durres moves to Porto Romano

In August of this year, a decision allowing the expansion of the existing port in Porto Romano paved the way for the Emaar group project in Durrës. The expansion enables the construction of several other quays that will serve for the processing of cargo ships, in addition to that of fuel that is currently being carried out.

Meanwhile, it is also investing in the road that connects Porto-Romano with Durrës with a category A highway.

Earlier in the quarantine, on March 31, 2020, the Port Multi Buoy Mooring, under the administration of Kastrati Group which carries out cargo processing and oil storage services in Porto Romano received approval for an additional contract from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy.
