Xholind Muçi is 21 years old, born in Tirana and for 9 years, trains, dances, and performs in various shows, both in Albania and abroad, including Italy, Spain, Turkey, Croatia, and Britain.

The passion for ballet started accidentally, just as the beautiful things happen in life. From the age of 5 to 12, Xholind has been trained in the martial art of karate. But, everything was interrupted after he suffered a fracture in his leg.

Although a little boy, 7 years were enough for him to fall in love with karate, sometimes things do not go as he plans and loves. But, if he once considered himself unlucky for what happened to him, today Xholind thinks the complete opposite, as this "incident" led him to the dream, which is ballet.

"I had no contact with the world of ballet until I was 12 years old. But, physical activity was not lacking from the age of 5 where I was trained for another art very different from ballet. For 7 years from the age of 5, I trained in the martial art of karate. But after a fracture in the fibula bone, seeing the flexibility I had managed to gain through karate, my parents enrolled me in a private ballet school," he said.

After enrolling in ballet school, although he did not like it very much, without understanding how, Xholind fell in love with what he did, and immediately after finishing school, he went to practice with two professionals Mimoza Bekteshi and Andrea Kokiri.

At first I did not like and did not even think that I would become a dancer, but over time better understanding, a prince in "Swan Lake", a pirate in "Le Corsaire" or a gladiator in the Colosseum, things changed. Also, the freedom to express the feelings and the impact that classical music had on me, strengthened, even more, my connection with ballet, creating the passion that pushed me to choose this career", he said to local media.

Great dedication and passion, at the age of 17, Resmi Malko, a professor at the Central School of Ballet, after an hour of teaching in the hall where he practiced in Tirana, decided to suggest him to the school board in London.

A year later they invited him to summer school and also offered him a full scholarship. After graduating from high school, at the age of 19, Xholindi left Albania to embark on a long journey accompanied by adventures and challenges.

During the period of his stay abroad, he has realized numerous performances that have helped him grow professionally, touching big stages.

"The performances have been numerous since in Tirana with International Dance Academy Albania" we performed about 2-3 times a year in big concerts on the stage of the Opera House and the Palace of Congresses. Leading roles have been numerous in ballets such as Giselle, Bayadere, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, La fille mal gardée, Pharaoh’s Daughter, Le Corsaire and also roles in folk dance of local and foreign character.

I have also been represented in Britain with the Ballet Central Company during this year in the stages of Queen's Theater Hornchurch, The Core at Corby, The Hawth Crawley, Birmingham, Britten Theater London, etc., in the roles of Lakendem in 'Le Corsaire' and the role of James in 'Highland Fling' where I worked with the staff of Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, one of the largest and most respected companies in the UK," said Xholind, who despite these achievements, has big dreams.

His biggest dream is to become part of Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures company, as this company has a unique style giving more priority to emotional performance and creating a direct impact on the feelings and emotions of the audience. Also performing in musicals in West End theaters remains a dream for him, which will surely come true as Xholind is one of those guys who work tirelessly and passionately.

"To be successful in the world of ballet you have to have a passion that transcends everything and never be satisfied with the work you do. Having these two elements, - says Xholind - the dancer manages to make progress in technique, musicality, and interpretation."

Xholind is the example of a young man who makes you believe that dreams come true. Maybe in the world, but they are realized. And we need to show them to inspire the next generation of dancers.
