The first Albanian cultural center opens in the Bronx funded by New York and Mark Gjonaj

A new social center completely dedicated to the Albanian community opened its doors last night in the Bronx, New York. The first Cultural Center in the Bronx was funded in the amount of 8.7 million dollars by the state of New York, with the support of the Albanian councilor of the municipality of New York, Mark Gjonaj.

Dozens of members of the Albanian community were present at the inaugural evening, who after the respective American and Albanian anthems and the occasional speech have attended an artistic program prepared by the students of the Albanian School "Alba Life".

The students expressed their gratitude to Mr. Mark Gjonaj for this initiative that will bring Albanians even closer to each other and will offer new opportunities for education. Teaching will now take place in classes that meet all the requirements.

The students of the school for six weeks have been rehearsing for the program developed on the day of the inauguration. In the new facilities, there will be space for Albanian school students, as well as for various activities of the Albanian community.
