Commercial flights will resume tomorrow in Tirana Airport which clarifies schedules

The situation at Rinas Airport has been unblocked after more than 30 hours of flight blocking.

The news was announced by Minister Belinda Balluku and Tirana International Airport, emphasizing that humanitarian, medical, and diplomatic flights will resume first.

The Tirana International Airport announcement states that the first commercial plane that departs tomorrow from Rinas is that of the Tirana-Istanbul line at 09:20 am.

Meanwhile, the first plane that lands in Rinas is the Milan-Tirana line that departs from Malpensa at 10:30 am.

Balluku stated in a press conference that a solution has been found for the situation while emphasizing that with this solution is expected to arrive other doses of vaccines in the country

Meanwhile, for all passengers who have booked a ticket to Dubai and have a flight today, TIA announces that the trip will be performed from Podgorica airport and the flight companies will take care of transporting citizens to Tirana.

Meanwhile, after the detention of 3 Albcontrol employees who were part of the group of controllers who suspended their work, causing the blocking of flights in Rinas, the former director of Civil Aviation, Petrit Sulaj, was also accompanied to the Police. 

The three controllers Armando Fezga, Flora Ndreca, and Muhin Mezini, are accused of abuse of office. According to the Police, in cooperation with each other, after making the reservation of the rooms in the hotel near the airport, they influenced their subordinates to fill in the form of temporary incapacity for work, in order to avoid the legal obligation to exercise the duty.

With their actions they have caused serious consequences to the detriment of passengers and the legal entity - Rinas Airport.
