Agim Kaba, Albanian-American actor celebrates his birthday

Agim Kaba is an Albanian-American actor who today celebrates his 41st birthday. He is an actor and former footballer, currently living in Portland, Oregon.

The third of four children born to Sal and Sally Kaba, US Albanians, his early interests was football and acting. While a high school student in a Florida city, he was selected for the Florida Olympic Development football teams for five years. He later attended St. Louis University. John’s of New York City, where he played football.

While a student at St. John's, Agim started dual employment in business and history before switching to the fine arts, a decision that not only allowed him to hone his painting and writing skills but would inspire him to pursue a career in television and cinema. After modeling for three years in New York and Milan, including a major campaign for Guess Jeans, Agim landed his first television role on CBS's "As the World Turns" in April 2002.

In March 2004, the then 24-year-old actor received his first "Emmy Daytime" nomination, in the category of Outstanding Young Actor in a Drama Series. Kaba continued to play the role of Aaron Snyder in the telenovela during the day until April 2005, later returning to the series in June 2007.

He has also made guest appearances on the TV series Charmed and CSI: NY. Agim starred in the horror films "Haunted Forest" and "Neowolf" before taking his big break at the Late Film Festival, where he worked alongside Dennis Hopper, Leelee Sobieski and Chris Kattan. In 2010, he signed on for the movie "Nomads", directed by Ricardo Benet, starring Lucy Liu.

In 2012, Kaba co-starred in the ABC television pilot drama "Americana as Jordan," directed by Phillip Noyce. However, the pilot drama was not selected. His name is often translated by the media as "sunrise".
