Albania pays 3 million euros for 250 thousand vaccines from Pfizer so far, the rest uknown

 The details of the Albanian Government agreement with the American-German company Pfizer/BioNTech for 500 thousand anti-covid vaccines are revealed.

In the contract considered confidential, but provided by Euronews Albania, has been revealed the details regarding the costs and the number of vaccines that will arrive in Albania within this year.

There are 499,590 vaccines that Albania will receive from Pfizer. According to the agreement, for half of these doses, Albania will prepay about 3 million dollars within 30 days, while for the rest the price will be set in a second moment.

According to the calculation made in the agreement, a dose of the Pfizer vaccine has a cost of 12 dollars for Albania.

The contract also reveals the plan for the arrival of vaccines in Albania. By February, just 41,000 vaccines are expected to arrive, divided into 10,530 in January and 30,420 in February.

While the rest of the vaccines - 458,640 - will be divided into two phases, but without a definite time when will arrive in Albania.

It is not yet clear which party he requested the confidentiality of this agreement. In response to the interest of Euronews Albania, the company Pfizer/BioNtech states that wants to respect the agreement with the Albanian government, but without detailing who has requested such a thing.
