Albanian President and 'First Lady' fined for not wearing the mask

  Albanian President Ilir Meta and his wife, Monika Kryemadhi, are fined for not wearing a mask. Six police officers have been suspended and the local administrator has been fined two days ago at a feast organized by the comedian known as Bes Kallaku on the occasion of his 35th birthday.

Tirana Police states that after being signaled for the birthday that the actor had organized in a bar in the village of Laknas, Kamza Municipality took measures in the implementation of the Anti-Covid Normative Act by fining the administrator of the bar with 1,000,000 leks.


The ceremony, according to police, was attended by 30 people, who will be fined, after being identified based on film footage.

In addition to family, friends, colleagues, the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi were present at the birthday of the actor, who will also be fined for violating anti-covid measures, as gatherings in these kinds of activities are not allowed in more than 10 people.


By order of the Director of Police of Tirana, 6 police officers were suspended from duty for not conducting territorial control and against them, the Directorate of Professional Standards in the General Directorate of State Police has initiated disciplinary proceedings for serious violations.

The Local Police Directorate of Tirana appeals to all local administrators and citizens to correctly respect the anticovid measures by making it possible to break the chain of infection from the virus and invites citizens to report to 112 of the Digital Commissariat any local administrator or citizen who does not respect these restrictive measures by becoming a source of risk to the health of citizens.
