Kosovo signs an agreement with the Netherlands on Social Security

 The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo, Meliza Haradinaj-Stublla, was received today in an official meeting by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Stef Blok.

According to the ministerial communiqué, Stublla briefed his Dutch counterpart on political developments in Kosovo, with special emphasis on the Washington Agreement on the normalization of economic relations between Kosovo and Serbia, which will precede the final agreement on mutual recognition and advancement in the cognitive position of the remaining five EU.

"We also discussed the lack of visa liberalization after the fulfillment of the criteria by Kosovo, and I asked Mr. Blok for the Netherlands to reconsider its skeptical attitude towards this agenda. I also submitted Kosovo's updated report on the rule of law, organized crime, and migration - issues that build a skeptical Dutch stance - and invited it to exchange joint expert-level working groups to address the concerns to Dutch authorities", said the head of Kosovar diplomacy.

In the spirit of deepening bilateral relations, Minister Haradinaj Stublla and Minister Blok signed also the Agreement on Social Security between Kosovo and the Netherlands, which relates to pensions and mutual legal benefits.

It is worth noting that the agreement signed today abrogates that of between the former Yugoslavia and the Netherlands.
