The Serbian member of the tripartite presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, voted against the recognition of Kosovo in the extraordinary meeting of the presidency, held on Thursday.

The Croatian member of the presidency, Zeljko Komsic, who also made the proposal to review the recognition of Kosovo, voted in favor, as did the Bosnian member, Sefik Xhaferovic.

The decision in the tripartite presidency is taken by consensus of the three members.

"Dodik did not accept the recognition of Kosovo as an independent state. We voted 2-1 for that decision. Dodik was against and this will be a topic in the coming weeks. Dodik is expected to request a session of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska and present those topics where Kosovo and Republika Srpska are related. This is a dangerous topic that could escalate into a history of separation, and I assume you all know where all this is leading us," Komsic said.

He added that Kosovo is a reality, it is an independent state.

"Anyone who is afraid of a decision like the recognition of Kosovo, should not sit in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Komsic.

The request for consideration of the recognition of Kosovo's independence was made by the member of the presidency, Zeljko Komsic, after the other member of the presidency, Milorad Dodik, requested that the session discuss the relocation of the Bosnian embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. However, no consensus was reached on the relocation of the embassy to the presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Otherwise, within the framework of an agreement with Kosovo, signed in Washington on September 4, Serbia has agreed to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
